Royal Show is ‘going green’
Thwaites Brewers are cutting their hoof print by returning to horse powered deliveries and will be showing their horses in all three turnout classes at this year’s Royal Show.
The leading Northern brewery’s world famous Shire Horses are back in the harness on the streets of Blackburn for the first time in more than five years and are aiming to make deliveries within a mile or two radius of their stables.
“The Royal Show is one of our favourite shows and appearing there is a highlight of our year” said Emma Green, Transport Operations Manager at Thwaites Brewery.
“This year we will be showing in all three turnout classes, and will be hoping to follow the success that we had at the National Shire Horse Show in March”.
At the same time, the Royal Show is making every effort to help the environment. All waste from the show will be segregated into recyclable and non recyclable waste. The carpets used at the Show will also be recycled and made into plastic.
