The Royal Show - Visiting - Farming - Smallholder Area
The Good Life is back – and not just in Surbiton. From the suburbs to the city, the countryside to the towns, more and more people are getting involved with self-sufficiency, in a very real and practical way. Whilst some have gone all the way and started their own smallholding, many more are simply using back gardens and yards to produce their own food, and the Royal Show is offering visitors the opportunity to explore an exciting Smallholder area.
The aim of this area is to be an interactive environment and there will be lots of things to see and do including:-
- Learn how to get started in smallholdings and making them work for you.
- Have a go at milking goats.
- See a sow and litter, Manalitza, Kune Kune and finishing pigs.
- Christine Ball, a leading expert in UK goat genetics will be discussing artificial insemination.
- Caged hive, wormery and snail farm demonstrations.
Plus much more.....
