The Royal Show - Exhibiting - Beware of Fairguide/Expoguide
THIRD PARTY SHOW GUIDES
It is important that the entire industry is made aware of activities relating to
third parties which contact businesses offering them entries into show guides
and event catalogues. The Royal Show and the RASE have no connection with these
type of third party show guides and we would suggest that businesses discard any
correspondence received from such organisations.
An example of one such guide is ‘Fairguide’ and more recently 'Expo-Guide'. Fairguide.com/Construct Data Verlag is an Austrian-based organisation registered in Switzerland that regularly publicises its services to exhibitors at events in Europe. The company uses a misleading form, which resembles an organiser’s free catalogue listing service and invites exhibitors to register for entry in an online directory. Doing so contracts the purchaser into a three-year, non-retractable agreement. Non-payment is then followed by aggressive debt collecting by Premium Recovery.
